Today My Topic Of Discussion Is Regarding “Social Class”

Today my topic of discussion is regarding â€Å"Social Class† Many of us are possibly aware of its implications, whereas many of us are not. For instance, the first thing that came to mind for me was two words â€Å"Wealthy and Bougee.† prior to discovering its true meaning. Wealthy – is defined by (Google 2017, paraphrase) as, â€Å"having a great deal of money or assets; rich, plentiful, abundant etc.† The word Bougee for those who don t know – is defined by (Urban Dictionary 2007, paraphrase) as a phrase â€Å"When ghetto folk/deprived /poor people try and act above their means. An Offshoot of bourgeois (having qualities or values associated with the middle class, typically with reference to its perceived materialistic values or conventional†¦show more content†¦This corresponded to a general decrease in significance ascribed to hereditary characteristics, and increase in the significance of wealth and income as indicators of position in the social hierarchy.† Are you bougee and try to get in, where you don t fit in, by faking it, till you make it? (Participation) Social Class, Social Problems, Social Issues; Why? /Karl Marx theory? I heard a Karl Marx â€Å"Call to action† did you? Have you identified yourselves; as a bourgeoisie or a proletariat, which one are you? Where do we stand today ....Call to action? What does the rich and the poor have in common according to the Bible (Participation) PARTICIPATION: Turn to your neighbor and ask him or her â€Å"Are you bougee and try to get in, where you don t fit in, by faking it till you make it†? Wait for it.....by meditating on that bigggg question, if you must. Then answer the question, to the best of your knowledge.
